This was a very unique project. We sourced this wood from Hunts Timbers in Montana. Once we received to wood we took a torch and burned it black, then we sanded each individual plank and installed it into the home, we then applied an oil based polyurethane finish to give it a amber tone. Ill never forget going home smelling like a campfire.
At Paragon, we pride ourselves on being the best hardwood floor craftsmen in the Northern California area. We also pride ourselves in being extremely modern and green with the way we run our business - from the best equipment so your home stays clean and there is literally no dust - to using only the finest green hardwood floor finishes with low to zero VOC, so that your family is not exposed to any harmful chemicals. But, we've done some jobs lately that required us to push even further: we've been perfecting our Old Word Hardwood Staining techniques.

Well, we can get it done for you. Whether White Oak, Red Oak, Hickory, Walnut, or others - give us a call and we can get you floor finished or refinished in the style that you want to see.
Paragon Doesn't Just Do Floors
Custom Built table. We used White oak, Dougfir, Redwood and steel on this custom table. The bottom beam was burnt using a Japanese technique called Shou Sugi Ban.

Check out this floor, a Calico Hickory. We did the install, finish sand, and finish with a natural oil.
For this job we used a White Oak with a Natural Oil for a softer look. We are experts with all types of wood and all types of finishes. Don't hesitate to give us a call, let us know what look you are going for, and we will recommend great options for your floors.
For this home, there was a nice transition between the hardwood floors and tile floors. Also, the fireplace got special treatment with a decorative inlay. Wood doors and moldings compliment the floors as well.
